How do I pay for my trip?

Each participant is expected to pay for the trip themselves. We encourage all of the participants to utilize our crowdfunding system called Focus Missions that we give you once approved for the trip to raise funds via friends and family. 

What’s the cost of the trip and what does it include?

The cost of each trip varies depending on its location. The cost of all trips include airfare, housing, ground transportation, meals during the trip, and insurance.

What is the cancellation policy?

All trips are non-refundable. Please note that per IRS regulations, any charitable contribution made to Rock Church Global Outreach designated to your personal support account (whether the contribution is from you or from someone else) is considered a tax-deductible donation, and therefore cannot be refunded. If the participant cancels it is up to the discretion of Rock Church Global Outreach to allocate funds where needed.

What are the pre-trip requirements?

  • You must attend 3-5 pre-trip meetings. These meetings are designed to prepare each team member spiritually, for the cross-cultural experience and specifically for the unique activities on their trip.

  • All Trip Waivers and Policies must be signed before the deadlines set.

  • All funds must be turned in by the due dates set.

  • Some trips will require vaccinations and VISA’s

What are the post-trip requirements?

  • All team members will be encouraged to attend a post-trip debrief (approximately 1-2 weeks after arriving home) that allows participants to reflect upon and process the trip in a healthy manner. A good debriefing gives an understanding of how to be missional upon returning. We strongly recommend following up with your prayer/financial supporters soon after returning from your trip as well.

How can friends and Family donate towards my trip?

Family and friends can donate to your trip online by using the link we will give you to your own personal crowdfunding page. From there they can easily make a payment towards your trip. 

Are my donations towards the trip tax-deductible?

Yes, all donations made towards your trip are tax-deductible. 

Do I need a passport and where do I get a passport?

Yes, you will need to submit a valid passport to us and take with you on your trip. A valid passport should have at least 6 empty pages, have your current name listed, and the expiration date should have a minimum of 6 months from the date you would return home from the trip. 

Passport applications can be downloaded from www.travel.state.gov. The passport form must be presented and signed in person at an authorized passport acceptance facility. You will need to bring your actual birth certificate and two passport photos. Keep in mind that passports typically take up to 6 weeks to process. 

Do I need a VISA?


Some countries require you to have a VISA. The GO coordinator will let you know if you will need a VISA and give you instructions on how to obtain one if needed. 

Is there an age/ or physical requirement? 

Participants need to be at least 18 years old. Some trips may be ok if the child is accompanied by an adult. It is important if you have health concerns or issues to please discuss those on your application and with your trip leader. Each trip has a different set of criteria. 

Do I need insurance?

The cost of your trip includes trip insurance, which provides coverage for emergency medical expenses, medical evacuation, accidental death, political and security evacuation, etc. It is highly recommended that participants have their own comprehensive health insurance for the duration of their trip as well.

Will I need vaccinations?

Every person is required to get the necessary immunization/inoculation for your destination. Please visit the CDC website (www.cdc.gov/travel) for the most recent list. Check with your primary care physician and your personal health insurance company to determine cost and coverage. 

How important are the payment deadlines?


These deadlines are very important! There are a number of significant pre-trip expenses that need to be purchased ahead of time (i.e., airfare, lodging accommodations, etc.). Therefore, every effort must be made to make payments in a timely fashion. You'll be able to monitor your fundraising balance through your Focus Missions account we set up for you. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in you being removed from the team. If, through unforeseen circumstances, meeting deadlines is not possible, please notify your team leader as soon as possible.

Do I have to attend all of the meetings for the trip?

Yes, all meetings are mandatory. These meetings are designed to prepare each team member spiritually, for the cross-cultural experience and for the unique activities on the trip. 

Do I need to bring extra money?

Please note that all your expenses including airfare, housing, ground transportation, meals during the trip, and insurance are included in the overall cost to go on the trip. Personal spending money for souvenirs and such will not be included in the cost of your trip. A recommended amount is usually around $100-$200 US dollars, depending on the exchange rate of the country.
